At what time should I take PRUNELAX®?
How long can I take PRUNELAX® for?
To treat occasional constipation, Prunelax® can be used for up to 7 consecutive days.
Please note, prolonged use of laxatives may cause serious bowel problems. If symptoms persist, talk to your health professional. Remember to drink plenty of water. Do not use when abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting are present or if you develop diarrhoea.
Do I need a prescription from my doctor to buy PRUNELAX®?

PRUNELAX® and Diabetes
PRUNELAX® Smooth Laxative contains honey, so it is not recommended for diabetics.
PRUNELAX® Syrup is not suitable for diabetics.
Is PRUNELAX® gluten free?
All PRUNELAX® products are gluten free.

PRUNELAX® during Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
The active ingredient in all PRUNELAX® products is Senna. Senna is classified as a Category A medicine on the Australian Prescribing medicines in pregnancy database.
Category A: Drugs which have been taken by a large number of pregnant women and women of childbearing age without any proven increase in the frequency of malformations or other direct or indirect harmful effects on the foetus having been observed.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please seek the advice of your healthcare professional before taking PRUNELAX®.
Can I take PRUNELAX® at the same time as other medications or supplements?
Please speak with your healthcare professional if you are taking other medicines or supplements. They will be able to advise you about any potential side effects or interactions with other medicines that may occur.
